Here's a brief How To on Building A TRIKE PULLER

(some initial information to get you started- more to be added)

Building a trike puller is easier than you may think. In most cases it's just a matter of removing the tire, chain, and swing arm.

So to start, do just that. The next step is to (and this is the fun part), make a new swing arm.

Sounds hard right?, nope. It's only a rectangle frame. You can use steel, aluminum, it can be welded, bolted, it can be nasty or it can be nice. It's all up to you. The swing arm is just to bolt on the axle, bearing, and hitch.

DIAGRAM/Photo HERE (to be added soon)

Tip #1 - Channel makes a great frame |__|. It makes it easy to mount bearings.

PARTS YOU NEED:

3 - 5ft 1 1/2" round bar

2 - 11/2" pillow block bearings

1- 70-80 tooth sprocket

1- chain

1 - 2" eye bolt for hitch

(1 bandaid, 2 pretty girls, or handsome guys + beer. Lots of beer. The bandaid is to tape one eye shut. You know why.. :)

ABOUT THE PARTS:

1 1/2 axle is hard to bend or break.

Pillow block bearing (also hard to bend or break).

Large rear sprocket - We don't shift so the big sprocket gives us plenty of low end and that's what we need!

Longer chain because of the big sprocket

TIRES:

There are many kinds....it's all about your pocket. Dick Cepek Giant Pullers are what many competitors use (made specifically for the sport of pulling) One of the members uses ATV tires called Dirt Dogs - in his case they fit more to his pocket!

Note: Every track is different and we have done good and bad with both. Again your call. Links to some of the types of tires available listed below:

WELL.....GET GOING!

so there's where to start. We will be more than happy to answer anything you may want to know. There is no such thing as a dumb question. To us, nobody starts out knowing everyhing. We are still learning ourselves and besides it's a great way to meet new friends and have fun!

GOOD LUCK!
